THE FIRST PERIOD STORY:

I remember the day I got my first period like it was yesterday. I was in middle school, and I had been dreading this moment for months. I had heard all the horror stories from my friends about cramps and mood swings, and I was terrified of what was to come.

When I finally got my period, I was at school and I was completely unprepared. I didn’t have any pads or tampons with me, and I was terrified of what would happen if anyone found out. I went to the bathroom and tried to clean myself up as best I could, but I was shaking with fear and embarrassment.

Looking back on that experience, I realize that getting my first period was a normal and natural part of growing up. It was uncomfortable and embarrassing at the time, but it was also a moment of empowerment and independence. I learned that I was capable of taking care of myself and that I had the strength and resilience to handle whatever challenges came my way. So, that’s how I experienced my first period.

To make matters worse, when I got home, my mom was out of town and I had to explain to my dad what had happened. It was the most awkward and embarrassing conversation of my life. (Ridda Asif, Faisalabad)
